is a score of 7934 good? I have a 7800gt overclocked to 479MHz/1.16GHz, 3500 overclocked to 2.4GHz and 1Gb or ram. Is that under average, average, or above average? Oh and it was just the default settings for the free version of 3dmark05. 1024x760 and so on. Thoughts.

FYI, most 3DMark05/03 posts are of the default setting so were all can compare on equal levels. and yes, that seems right. GJ

It won't be hard for ATI's R520 to beat the G70 with a low score like that. Sh*t, I get over 6500 in 3DMarks2005 with my X800XT PE. I certainly wouldn't upgrade to a 7800GT/GTX with such small increases in performance.:)

Your right a 25% percent performance increase is crap:roll:. While sure it doesn't make sense replacing a already expensive card for another $500 card, its still a bloody large performance increase. You shold stop paying to much attention to the 10K plus hits by Overclockers and SLI'ers.

For some reason my 05 scores aren't what they use to be. When I had my CPU @ 2.52ghz and my 7800GTX clocks @ 490 and 1.31, I got a score of 8500. Now with my cpu @ 2.6ghz and the GTX clocks the same. I'm only getting 8100. Whats the deal? I set my image quality to high performance but that didnt help much at all.

When the last time you defragged your system or Formatted it for that matter. Even if your really careful and don't have any other crap running you will still probably see a steady drop in performance over time till it kind of levels off. Windows sucks this way.

I just defragged the other day but I think i'm gonna download a 3rd party defragger and see how that works.
