This is kind of interesting. Check it:

3D Mark 2K@Driver version:

7253@6.35
7247@6.34
7232@6.31
7230@6.50
7218@6.49
7119@6.72
7105@7.52
6951@6.47
6940@6.67
6767@10.50
6752@7.17
too buggy to finish@10.80

These scores are all at 640x480x16 color, triple buff, and D3D Hardware T & L. My A7V BIOS is at 1007, which I've had two or three 'blue screen' crashes w/ so far. On 2/10, I hit 7314 on 3D Mark [same options as above] w/ prolly 1005C or D BIOS, but I don't remember which drivers. Anyhow, I'll mess w/ other BIOS/driver combo's and post results later today.

Edited for political correctness.
Why spend so much time testing different drivers, at an unused resolution, to try to get a couple hundred more points, when your system has underlying problems, that will give much more improvement when corrected??

640x480x16 hasn't been a resolution most have used since the days of Voodoo 2 cards and AMD K6-2 CPU's. Even then, 800x600 was the common testing resolution. With all the time and money you spent on getting a T-Bird over 1Ghz, you probably are like the rest of us, and game at a minimum 1024x768x32. But, it just so happens, 3DMark's default benchmark is 1024x768x16, so that is what most everyone uses to compare systems.

For comparison, my GigaByte GeForce2 MX, in Abit KT7 with Duron 600 @ 935MHz, using 1024x768x16, default scores around 5300 with 6.47 drivers here. At your 640x480x16 test, it scored 7204. Since this is a Duron with 1/2 the cache that your T-Bird has, and is clocked at a lower speed, I would guess that it should score around 8000+ with your CPU in my system. (at madonions site, avg score with your combo, at that resolution, is 8300). If you posted normal 1024x768x16 results, this would be more useful, as someone should be able to give you the correct settings to use to fix your systems problems. Lot's of comparisons to your system can be made at 1024x768, but hardly anyone tests as 640x480, so that is pretty useless.

I'd say a large chunk of those scores are within a margin of error 6.35 to 6.49 for sure.

Any reason for all this testing? :)

RobsTV,

according to his System Rig page, he uses a Geforce2 MX and so the scores aren't bad. The only thing remaining which sounds bad is your comment now...not everyone can afford the latest and greatest video card.
