I bought a Lite-on DH-4O1S-08 a few weeks ago and within a day, the drive died. So, I ordered a replacement which I just received yesterday. I used it to watch a couple of blu ray movies last night and went to bed. Woke up the computer this morning and the drive was dead again.
The only thing I can think of is that when Vista puts the computer to sleep, it is shorting out the drive or something. I haven't been able to find anything online to back this up though. This drive is replacing a DVD player which has run fine for years. With both drives, I have taken it out of the computer and put it in another machine and it is still dead.
Any ideas?
