My 2nd America's Walk for Diabetes!!!

Last year I did this 5-mile walk in a freezing cold rain. It?s a real good cause but unfortunately last year I didn?t get to raise too much because I only had a couple of friends and family to sponsor me. Well this year I will be throwing in some more effort and I am also representing my professional engineering fraternity. I figure I might as well throw this up on anandtech unless there is a problem with it. If anyone is interested in sponsoring me you can do so online at the link below and I do very much appreciate it. Each dollar I raise will be used in the fight to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

Go here to sponsor me!!!

Also I would also like to encourage to go out and particpate in walk, they have them all over the country. Its a good cause, it is good excercise, and you will have some fun while your at it.

Go here to find a walk near you!

Good to see people on this board doing something good to benefit others who are less fortunate.

Unfortunately my arthritis in my right knee prevents me from taking part in these events. 🙁

Where do you live? I'll do the walking, you just sit in the radio flyer and I'll pull you along.

Good for you. 😀

I'm a type-one diabetic and did my own walk a few years ago; I hiked around 2000 miles of the PCT as a benefit for the ADA.

<cookie for both of us>

It's fun doing things as a benefit, isn't it? 😀

Thank you very much for doing this. My son has type one diabetes, and the immense help that we have gotten from other people is just mindnumbing.

Type one diabetes occurs in roughly 1 out of every 200 kids born. It really seems like they are getting close to a cure. They have already made huge improvements on the treatment of diabetes, now they just need a few more years, and lots of money before they can find a cure. Every little bit helps guys, so if you can chip in even a few bucks, please do so.

Again, thanks for what you are doing.

Free bump for you; if I wasn't already donating hundreds of dollars a month (no insurance right now) to my own diabetic concerns, I'd donate to help you out. 😀

Good luck,
Rob
