my 2800+ Barton overclock

I think something's up with my 2800+ barton. My setup is below in my signature ...

I'm currently overclocked @ 202FSB x 10.5 w/1.775 vcore. I'm sure my vcore can come down a bit but my temps never get over 40C under Prime95 torture tests as is.

My RAM, is set at stock/optimal ranges just for testing purposes. I want to get the overclock stable first.

Now I see people running 220FSB x 9 and so on and so forth. But I CAN'T get the FSB over 205 or so .. even with the multiplier set at something super low like 9 or 8.5 ...

what can be the problem? isn't 1.775 vcore usually plenty? Is it a crappy power supply? Is there some setting in the BIOS I need to disable?

You may need to do the defualt fsb 'L12 mod'

My Barty wouldnt do anything over 200 without it.

default fsb "L12 mod"??? what's that? an option in the BIOS?

I really hope I didn't just get a "crappy" CPU. Although it runs pretty sweet regardless!

😀

no ,,, it's a CPU mod...
(there are several different ways to do it)

I closed the 1st L12 bridge on mine
(all the other ones where already closed)

If you do your research ... you find plenty of links in lots of different forums.
