My 24X CDRW is being recognized by XP as a 16x, please HELP!

Just got a new Cendyne 24X drive. InCD is saying it's a 16x drive. How do I get NERO and InCD and XP to correctly recognize it and set the speed settings for a 24x drive?

I Just bought the same drive and im running XP as well. Its being shippined right now so I would like to know also incase I run into this.

I agree with Oyeve, check the media. If it isn't 24x capable, it won't burn at that.

I just uninstalled InCD and everything burned fine at 24x. Upgrading from a 2x2x6 is unbelievable. I just copied about 250 photos and an entire semester of papers, etc. (about 500MB) in about 1 minute!

Yes with CloneCD.

to make a copy of game cds I would use a product called blind write. not sure what the licensing is. if you want to burn using roxio or nero, you have to crack the cd often times. may as well get blind write

I use CloneCD to make backups of all my games. (I never play on the original, not since my wife started using my computer too.......🙂)

I just burned the second disk of Pool of Radiance to use instead of the original and I believe it is the latest copy protection. You just have to use the right settings and have a burner that will copy RAW format, which is most of them now. I have heard a disturbing rumor (thats all I hope it is), that Plextor is going to stop supporting RAW mode. If anyone knows for sure one way or the other please post it.
