I have 2 computers connected over a D-link networking kit... Both of the computers see the DSL line (which is also plugged into the switch), but they can't see each other. Sometimes, one computer will show up in the other computers Network Neighborhood, but when i try to access it, it says "The computer or sharename could not be found. Make sure you typed it correctly, and try again."

have have disk sharing on, file and printer sharing enabled, TCP/IP protocols installed, same workgroup name under Network>Identification...

this problem started after i did a clean install of Win98SE on both computers.

any suggestions?

Try Netbeui as the default LAN protocol on both computers, making sure that workgroup name is the same and computer names are not the same.
