My 2.9ghz Venice

I had to cut my ram back to 100 divider and 2.5-4-4-8 but I believe I got it all stable. Some G.Skill PC4400 and my rig will be sick soon. Just got my watercooling and my temps topped out at 41c during 32M PI.

Very nice.

It seems you got more outta it than i thought you would 😉

Make sure she's stable though...go play some UT2k4 😉 <insert other game here>

I stopped trusting P95 when i could run it all night with no errors but then i'd lockup not long into a game. Best way for testing IMO 😛

After stablity testing, the cpu couldnt take it and I passed prime95 and all benchmarks now at 2.8. So with W/C I basically gained 100mhz which still puts me right there with a stock FX-57. Not too bad for a $146 processor and $250 in watercooling. Now onto some serious ram.

I cant wait to test my winnie but all I ever hear about is the great oc's . If I heard more about the bad then I wouldnt have to be dissapointed when i test mine 🙂 also is epox known as a good oc mobo manufacturer?

I am more than pleased with my Epox. Its a sick overclocker and its much cheaper than the DFI Lan Party boards. I had a skt A Asus board that was nothing but problems. And I was trying to make a good rig for a good price so I went with the Epox.

1MB cache is overrated. If you absolutely need that 1-3% performance edge it gives you in order to claim top scores in benchmarks, the extra cache is far from vital in improving every day performance.

Personally I wouldn't spend the bucks on high dollar ram, you won't see much of a difference. And with the A64's ondie memory controller, you will have to give back some of that nice CPU overclock to get a high ramspeed and its just not worth it.

The difference between the 100, 133, 166 divider and my timings is more than you would think. Im going to order G.Skill PC4400. Which would definetly eliminate my divider dependency and it will last me quite a while since its usually capable of ddr600. Hell I cant even get this ram to OC 10mhz.

DDR600 @ CL2.5 3-3-6 1T <- What the G.Skill is capable of....

Don't feel too bad.

My disguesting expensive [for how it performs] Mushkin can't get past 206 (DDR412) at stock timings. I have to drop to CAS 2.5 to get farther 🙁
