Here we go...

I got this Protocol scratch repairer for Christmas. I don't know how much it cost or even what store it came from. Maybe I'll post a follow-up after I find out.
I've got a ton of scratched up disks. I basically keep them stacked up on my desk. They tend to get a little scratched with such a storage method.

* I used a Great White CD "Great Zeppelin: Tribute To Led Zeppelin" as my test media subject, since it was quite scratched up.

* The printed directions for the device weren't very clear. The device was easy enough to use with some common sense. The device comes with two sets of disks to polish with. The first repair session I used the course disks and finished up with the fine disks.
The printed directions didn't say anything about cleaning the gunk off the CD after it was done. But I cleaned it off with some 91% isopropyl alcohol. If you want to use and store your CDs with the cleaning fluid still on the CDs, then be my guest.
The "fluid" packaged with the Protocol had the consistency of Pearl Drops toothpaste.
The device runs for a couple of minutes and shuts off automatically. I used a 9V AC adaptor to run mine. But you can also use a 9V battery.
While running, the device is a little noisy but not too loud.

* I used the NERO "ScanDisk" feature to evaluate the condition of the CD before and after the scratch repair sessions.

* NERO results before and after the repair sessions

The Verdict... 7 out of 10
The "coolness" factor helped the device get up to "7" ;)
