I purchased a PC Power & Cooling "SILENCER" 400 ATX power supply...
and guess what! it is not silent at all...

my friend got his Antec/Chieftec(not sure which)power supply for half of what I paid for, and guess what....I can't even tell if his computer was on or not!!! wtf!!

And yes, rite now, the loudest thing on my computer is my "SILENCER" Power Supply

pisses me off!!!!!:|

Here's my $150 secret of the day:

Silencer stands for replacing the stock fan on a plain-jane PSU with a $5 low-RPM fan, or in some cases, a $10 thermal-sensing low-RPM fan. A good 400W PSU costs $50-60; add $5-10 for the new fan, and about 10 minutes of your time for installation.

:Q that's how much i'd pay for a nice antec case... not just a P/S. i think you can get a Antec Performance Plus 1080 with a 420watt p/s or something for that or alittle cheaper. :Q

my enermax is pretty quiet. most noise from my system is coming from the retail cpu fan (xp2000+)

If its any consolation my $80 Enermax was acting funny after not being used for two weeks. It refused to boot with all the drives plugged in. Happy to report it has worked itself out.

Just get an enermax or a antec power supply, replace the fans with panaflos, and then egay the $150 power supply and still come out ahead:p

Have you contacted PC Power & Cooling's support?

It may be defective.

My Antec TruePower is very, very quiet. I paid $110 or so for it (550W).
