1. chemotherapy

2. your title says 13 years old, your post says the twin is 3. I'm having a hard time believing the twins are born 10 years apart.

3. my cousin has leukemia. no donor, yet.

better believe it. The 13 year old cousin birthday is 7-28. Two years later, they had a son, same month and day.

Why was he left in the womb for 10 years?

If it is 2 years later how is he 3 and she 13. Also being born on the same day in different years doesn't make you twins.

wow, is this a thread to joke in? 🙁

IIRC, chemo is done before the bone marrow transplant... the chemotherapy kills the white blood making cells in the marrow... thus after the chemo, the transplant replaces what was lost, enabling the patient to be less immune suppressed.

I'm not really sure about the procedure but the chemo and bone marrow will be done.

Twins mean they were born together in the same womb, whether if two eggs go fertilized at once, or the fertilized egg split into two embryos. Being born on the same day of the same month doesn't mean they're twins.
Now you know.

Good luck to your cousin.

Sorry, just very confused and trying to get to the bottom of it.

Hope she is alright. I'm on the bone marrow registry donor list as well.

well, they're not really "twins" since my brother and sister are born on the same day, and i'm the day after.

but anyways, good luck to her.

Go find a puppy, borrow said puppy, take previously mentioned puppy to sick kid, let the fuzzyness ensue.

Puppies make everyone feel good,
