my +12V rail is 11.308 volts.

Hi, heres everything that AsusProbe detects-

i use an antec smartpower 400w psu that came with my case, bout 4months old.
is this low +12v a problem? and whats it caused by, thanks

Run all the 12v HW @ the same time and see if it changes (Opticals, HDs) ...if not then it's prolly OK

I had similar problems with my Antec 380 TruePower, it wasnt that low, I think around 11.47. It didnt create any problems unless I was going for a big OC. I then decided to get a bigger PS. So I got the Antec TP 430, biggest they had at my local Best Buy. Unfortunatly it didnt help at all.

So I ordered a OCZ 520, all is well now. The interesting thing, is I put this ANtec PS in my sons system which is now running a generic PS, and the 12v rail dropped. All in all its been in 4 systems all same results. Its a older ps, but it has always showed low numbers on the 12v rail. From my limited experience with the Antec PS (just the 2) Im not that thrilled with them, although most peeps say they are the very nice

Check your bios to verify that reading. ASUS probe showed my 12V rail to be 11.3, but the the bios reads 11.98.

The only way to know the accurate voltage is to measure it with a good volt meter. You can not rely on a software utility for that.

Heck if the whole system runs stable I won't really care about the voltages, if I were you. I'll bet the readings are way off.

11.4 is about the bare minimum for the 12v...replace if possible, but do verify the reading with multiple programs before doing so - check the BIOS, ASUS Probe, Ntune, SANDRA, etc.

It is good to check it with multiple programs. But, I am afraid they all use the same data from the same sensor on the motherboard.
The only way to have an accurate measurement is to use a properly calibrated volt meter.

Right, always verify suspect hardware monitor software readings with a decent DMM (digital multiMeter). Every home should have one anyway - there's always something around here that needs testing ...
. As another said, you could also check the reading within the BIOS setup program - but I've seldom found significant voltage reading differences. However fan speeds are often discrepant.

it's a bug with asus, go to their website and download the newer asus probe. that will show the proper voltage readings
