Plowed through several inch high grass & weeds in less than 7 minutes... Didn't even bog down, and the blade hasn't been sharpened in a couple years. I don't think it will ever die.
You call that a lawn 😉Originally posted by: Ornery

3.5 HP only? Must have been very thin grass.

Just got a $400 Sears mower as a graduation gift. It was $100 off this month, so they only paid $300. Honda engines are becoming quite common, even on Sears mowers. You cannot separate them like you did on your thread sub-title.
As for HP, every respectable review I ever read said HP was virtually meaningless. A higher HP helped slightly if you only mulch - as it mulched a bit finer. But the cutting quality was equal in all cases and all HP motors.

LOL. Only an ATOTer would stop and start his mower for pictures to show his yard being mowed in stages! 😀

My dad tried to replace his mower that's pretty much identical to yours with a new Craftsman. He couldn't get it started after it had been stored over the winter so he got rid of it and bought a Honda. That things starts every time. I'll admit, the old Craftsman was awesome, it just left piles of grass all over the lawn. I also like the stopping mechanism on it so much better than the stupid bar you have to hold.

You guys would hate this one, too. The primer has never worked right since I got it. Today I had to pour a teaspoon of gas in the carb to coax it into starting. The gas is old and stale, so that doesn't help. Otherwise, once she's running, she runs well!
