i have a wireless optical Mx700 logitech mouse and was wondering if it runs smoother plugged to the USB or the PS2 port. Anyone know about this?

USB. PS2 port doesn't have a high enough polling rate (default anyway).
I don't know what this polling rate shite is, but I was gonna say USB too 😀. I like USB. USB likes me.

Actually, USB is limited to 125 polls/second. PS/2 is limited to 400 something.
However, the USB will be the better choice, as the MX700s max is 125 anyway.

he's right IIRC

I just can't stand having the PS/2 dongle that makes the thing stick out so far from the port. It jars loose rather easily (I have one for my Logitech Elite Keyboard...can't stand it).

I know what you mean. I have the MX Duo and every time I even look at the back of my case my keyboard comes loose. Freaking annoying.

Btw, why is the MX 700 that comes with the Duo PS/2 only while the keyboard is USB? Wtf is up with that?

I use PS2 for keyboards and USB for mice donno why just seems like a good idea. Mostly cause I find my self more likley to remove the the mouse to use on my laptop occasionally. PS2 I would have to shut down. I know I have killed a PS2 port from removing them when the system was powered on.
