MX700 users...PS/2 or USB??

I'm getting a powered usb 2.0 hub & wonder if it'd hurt to run the mouse through it instead of using the PS/2 port.
Comments?

if you change some settings in your bios then you shouldnt have any trouble..except when installing windows (the bios works with USB keyboard support but windows installation doesnt)

my dad says that the logitech coordless, optical mouse that he has doesn't work well through a USB hub, but works fine when plugged into one the usb ports directly on the computer

mine worked ok via USB

No matters as the Mouse will transfer @ it's Max either way, however, I would avoid running through a hub.

1 vote for running directly through USB port. Hub can cause a decrease in preformance, just my dealings with them, though.

How would a hub affect the performance of a keyboard, scanner & printer? Or should a keyboard be hooked into a hub?

I think, when most people talk about mouse performance issues, they are talking about latency. That would be important in gaming, but not much of an issue any other time (unless it's really bad). Keyboard might be the same, latency issues. With printer or scanner, I don't think anyone would even care, if they noticed at all, a half a second delay when printing or scanning.

My MX 700 came with a PS2 adapter and thats what I use, works great.
Printers, keyboards, mice and scanner are not really recomended for a hub.
The combined share is only 500ma and some devices won't work well.
I use my hub for my compact flash reader, my Momo Force wheel, my Data Link transfers. All low drawing devices.
