I just got it today as a gift and i set everything up, i charged it up for a bit, and supposedly it came with the batteries charged already. anywho, i was playing a little bit of COD2 for maybe 1-2 hours, then all of a sudden, my mouse begins freezing....then tracking again....freezing.....then tracking again. the intervals between the "freeze" and the "track" are about 2 seconds. So i recharged it, but lord behold! it said it was already fully chargeed! i play with it some more, then 1 hour later, it happens again.WTF! can any1 please explain to me what's happening here??!?So now, its sitting in my charger FULLY charged supposedly and im going to leave it there until tomorrow and see if this problem stops.

I've checked the logitech's FAQ's on troubles with this mouse, and nowhere do i see this one. please, if any of you know whats wrong, please inform me.

I think it comes like around 1/4 charged, which is normal for a lot of rechargeable electronics.

The "charged" indicators aren't very accurate for almost anything thats rechargeable, as I have learned since I got my first cell phone about 5 years ago.

Currently, my MX700 is being a bit of a pain.

Some nights, I set it in its cradle.... it starts charging. I wake up next morning and after 5 minutes use, it'll blink at me and conk out quickly.

Ive also had it say its fully charged and blink at me an hour or 2 later.

Scouzer.... take your attitude elsewhere. Its not welcome, however if you have something useful to offer with a nice attitude, that is welcome.

It might be a good idea if you used a proper battery charger to charge the batteries once and see what happens then. Watch the light when it blinks and take notes if you like, the charging might cut out mid-cycle and not charge it properly.

Exact same thing happened to me when I got it a few weeks ago. Charging the batteries in a real charger did not help. I returned it today for a G7, and man was it worth it. Perhaps the batteries in the recent MX700's are a bad batch? Or maybe they've just been sitting around too long, and expired.

Personally I'd call their customer service and see if you can get them to replace it.

I would but nothing on the market rivals the MX700 yet.

The blend of ergonomics, buttons and button placement, ample battery life, quality optical sensor, quality of wireless connection and smoothness of use in all aspects of computer use.... just make the MX700 great. Weight is its biggest downfall and the beefiness of a wireless mouse is expected.

After all of the weird things happening with the laser on the MX1000 having problems focusing quickly after being picked up, Im not convinced that its worth buying to replace my working MX700, even if the charger can be picky and moody.

Perhaps if Im still in warranty, Logitech still have working MX700's for me :(

It worked fine for ages when I first got it. It works fine at least 70% of the time nowadays but it can be very touchy. Ive cleaned the metal contacts with an eraser, on the mouse, the cradle, the batteries and the battery holder in the mouse. Ive even cleaned out the bottom of the cradle which had a tiny layer of dust on it but it still seems to be screwy.

Charging my batteries in a real charger helped a bit. Glad I had 2 sets of batteries to swap around.

But as Ive mentioned, my problem seems to have settled down for now.

Yes, Futureshop (same company). Looked like a good deal.
