mx518 mouse goes to top corner

Hey i've owned my mx518 for a good amount of time now. i just noticed right now it would jump to the top left hand corner sometimes. i noticed this as i reading and highlight at the same time and it would do it randomly. not pattern not given time just randomly. I've always used a mouse pad with it. I cleaned out any dust and stuff. I dont even need to touch the mouse and it would just jump to to top randomly.

Still functions perfectly normal but looks like signs of failing to me.

Did you try it on another PC.....or maybe safe mode?

my old logitech click mouse would do that. very annoying in games when you're trying to shoot somebody. it was funny when people stopped shooting at me when it happend because it would point me all the way up and spin me in circles if i didn't touch anything. but my MX518 hasn't done that at all.

its a very thin mouse pad that i got from buying my dell. its like hard plastic i guess. i cleaned that off good along with the mouse itself. updated my drivers and rebooted. Seems to have stop doing it at the moment. not to sure what went wrong but problay dust. unless its a known techincal issue.

some mousepad patterns are not friendly with optical mice and cause the mouse to scurry about as if after a cheese.
