MX518 - Cursor feels slow with Setpoint installed

I've been using an MX518 for over 2 years without any of its software installed, and I recently decided to try the Setpoint software out. I got the newest version from Logitech's site, and I'm on Vista Business x64. For some reason, the cursor speed is slower overall, even at the highest DPI. Increasing cursor speed isn't a real solution, because that makes it horribly inaccurate. Is there some obscure setting somewhere that can make it like it was before? Getting rid of Setpoint would be a last resort, as I like being able to customize the DPI settings, but I just might have to do that (the cursor just feels too slow for daily use now).

Any help would be appreciated, as I've run out of ideas. Thanks in advance.

Acceleration's off, and I've always had it off. I don't want to turn it on, since it makes the cursor feel less accurate to me, in a sense. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Acceleration?

No way.

That does introduce inaccuracy especially in fast paced fps titles.

I personally do not touch Logitech software.
Seriously.

I like their hardware, but there is no way SetPoint is ever touching my system ever again.

the newest version 4.6 works great for me on two different XP sp3 systems make sure you have a clean install of the latest version. The best way is to completely remove your current installation then reinstall from a fresh download. I do not use acceleration either make sure it is off.

There is a way.
In mouse game settings (Castle Piece), change the "Speed and Acceleration" settings back to OS Implementation, then change the settings back to how they were in the OS mouse settings.
