MX518 buttons wont work right

Whenever I try to set the forward and backward buttons on my mouse to do anything ingame, pushing them makes me look at my feet and doesnt do what its supposed to. I reinstalled the drivers and setpoint, and still nothing.

Any ideas?

I have the Mx510 which is essentially the same mouse minus the higher default DPI and variable DPI settings. I dont use any mouse drivers, maybe you should try stock windows drivers. A second suggestion is double check that the 3rd and 4th mouse buttons are not bound to any keys. If they are then thats your problem.

Your mouse doesnt require the drivers to adjust the DPI on the fly, so unless you have some explicit need for them to be installed, i would go without.

I know with my MX500 the mouseware software it makes the side buttons and sometimes the middle button not work in games. Without the software the buttons work fine, I just can't program my one button like I used to for windows. But that is worth being able to use all the others in games.
