MX510 or MX1000 Poll

I need to buy a new mouse, and while cost is a factor, comfort/reliability is more important.

I will be using it for general use, photo editing, and gaming (in that order). I've been using an MS Intellimouse for the past 3 years, so the cord doesn't really bother me.

Thanks for any advice.

I bought the MX1000. Weight feels fine to me, but I'm already used to a heavier mouse. I wouldn't want to part with it now.

Thanks for the response.. I guess I'll drop by a Staples or OD store and try out the mice and see how heavy the MX1000 is.

Just make sure you think about the weight when the batteries are in it. I tested a few wireless mice out at my local best buy and remember thinking they felt lighter than I originally thought... Then I realized why...

No brainer go for MX510,the MX1000 is not a bad mouse being it`s the best cordless mouse ,however it`s heavy and battery dependent.

I love the MX510 I got. The resolution is great. regedit and crank that mouse multipler from 0 to 2. I don't have the deskspace for a huge mousepad, so fast movement on screen with little movement out the mouse is a big plus.

hmm I came from the MX700 to the MX1000, and the MX1000 is MUCH better. MX700 is heavy as hell, MX1000 was light in comparison. Never really used the MX510 though. I like the erogonomics of the MX1000 MUCH better than the MX510/700.

But since the cord doesn't bother you, why waste money on wireless? I'd get the MX510 hands down.

I got the MX510 for $30 after deals, which is pretty reasonable. Now I just need to wait 3-5 business days for it to be shipped and I'll be set.

The only thing left to get is a nice shiny new computer to match but that's another thread lol.
