MX510 oddness

I got this mouse about a week ago and have been noticing something odd. If all windows are closed or even minimized it seems mouseware just stops working. Pointer moves slower than normal, the scroll buttons and program switcher button don't do anything, etc. What the dill? THX

Are you using the latest Mouseware software? I've never noticed this problem on my MX500 and MX310 mice, regardless of the Mouseware version.

Don't even run mouseware myself on my MX500. It doesn't affect precision, and I don't use the scroll buttons or task switcher on the mouse, so there's really no reason to have it use the resources.

I guess if you have custom mapped your buttons it's useful.

Doh, It did it again. Seems after teh computre is on for a couple days it reverts back to that wierd problem. A quick reboot fixed it, but its still suck.

I've seen that problem too, with older versions of MouseWare, when starting/exiting games. Would have to reboot, or go into mouse control-panel and adjust motion speed to get it to work again.

i have the same problem.............. i just bought it couple days ago and i have it on USB and i think that if u let your puter on for couple days it'll start this problem i couldn't find any email add for tech support on logitech website ....it's weird that if u r in webbrowser ie firefox ..everything works well as soon as u leave to the desktop or whatever window screen it'll slow down and the task switch button would not work

I have a theory that it frobs the acceleration profiles when switching apps, but it doesn't properly trap all switches, or doesn't properly handle the accel-profile switching back to default, etc., so you end up with no acceleration or system-default. Triggering their software to adjust speeds causes it to re-load/re-set the MouseWare-controlled accel-profiles.
