Went from a Explorer 3.0 to a MX510 and it hurt my game. I guess its where its too sensitive to movement I don't know. Maybe I need to just get use to it? Any ideas? Any settings I can mess with?

Same here with an MX700. My brother was playing a FPS game and he said it was weird initially but got way better.

If it feel more sensitive then lower your mouse sensitivity so that it is more on par with what your used to.

should I have installed the mouseware software? Or don't bother? I done installed it but is it really needed? I don't know if its the feel of the mouse or what. Seems to work better for lighting gun/shock rifle on UT2004 but for some reason my rocket launcher and others lack.

Well most people don't install Mouseware since it hurts causes all sorts of problems (or so I hear).

Well I heard the drivers needed to be installed(or something does) in order for the new chipset or whatever in the 510 to be better than the 500?

Heard that without the drivers/software the 510 is just a 500 basicly.

Then i guess i have an MX500, since i didn't bother installing the drivers, or bloatware, whatever you want to call it, for my MX510.

It's a damn good mouse, though i still love the shape of the ergonomic Microsofts far better...

For my MX700 all the buttons work except the "windows" button in the middle of the mouse.

You have to install the software that came with the MX510 and tweak it. My first week using it I had so so gaming performance, now I am vastly improved thanks in large part to this mouse. I made the mistake of not installing the software, instead I tweaked the windows mouse speed -- never do this.

This is the best gaming mouse, period. Nothing comes close.

when you say tweak it, what did you mean? adjusting the speed? what else can i adjust/tweak on the mouse besides the speed and button config? thanks

i just don't use accel in windows to begin with. not really necessary with mx engine. that feature gets tripped off in windows way too often anyways. better left off

games can always use all buttons. depends what u set to in logitech software. u can set buttons as keys. lkike the buttons around the wheel i set as end/home etc. if u set to copy/paste or other weirdness no..most games won't get it. they eneed to make profiles. theres a program called logigamer that will auto change profiles

I've seen a couple of other posts from people that switched from an MS Explorer optical mouse to a Logitech MX510 or MX700 and didn't like it, so they switched back.

I didnt install the Logetech Mouse software *I have MX500. All I got out of the software was annoyance, frustration, and blahhh. So, I uninstalled it, and have no problems with using teh Back, Forwards, scroll wheel etc. I dont know about the mode button or whatever, thats the only button i dont think works...

Took me about a week to get used to my original optical mouse and the a few days from that for the MX700 I now have. don't give up just yet.

Do you all recommend USB or PS2 connection? I got it running with USB because my cordless elite mouse(came with my keyboard) is hooked to the PS2 port. If its much better on the PS2 port I'd asume get rid of the cordless mouse.

How do you all have the mouse hooked up and configured?

You can never frag the same RIGHT after an upgrade.. you always have to get used to the mouse, I am used to my Explorer 3.0 right now even though I don't really even like the feel of the mouse overall.

I had an MX-500 way back when they first came out, but the drivers sucked so much, and I never had options of binding the buttons in games, so I went with the MS.

I think soon I'll get myself an MX-510 and try again... I love Logitech mice.

PS2 is supose to be better than USB for gaming atleast. You can set a PS2 as high as 200Hz vs 125Hz for USB.

After an adjustment period, you get used to this mouse, and believe me, it is superior to anything out there, except maybe the laser mouse.
