This is driving me nuts. I've tried all the registry tweaks I can find and my MX500 still has acceleration. I didn't notice it at first until I tried to set MouseSpeedX (and Y) to 400, then the cursor would go from moving smoothly to jumping halfway across the screen with slight movement changes. I'm not sure if it's acceleration or what, but it's completely unusable at higher speeds. I have it set to 100 now, and I'm not sure if it's something else I changed or if it's always been there, but I can still notice the acceleration. It seems to go up exponentially when I have higher speeds. These are in the "LMouFlt2" logitech driver settings. Acceleration is set to "Off." Resolution is set to 8.
I've also tried a number of registry tweaks for the control panel mouse, but none of those appear to make any difference whatsoever. Several different SmoothMouseXCurve/SmoothMouseYCurve values changed nothing. MouseThreshold1,2, and MouseSpeed are all set to 0, though changing them seemed to have no effect, either.
Edit: I'm starting to think this isn't acceleration related. It seems like it's more of a skipping issue with the drivers. For the most part, it seems to skip around twice as fast when you move the mouse faster, but sometimes it skips around randomly. I plugged in a friend's logitech "Click!" (I guess that's what it's called -- M-BT85, maybe?). It didn't have the skipping problem until I rebooted, so I'm pretty sure it just has to do with the logitech drivers. It's really annoying. It feels like I'm using an Etch-A-Sketch -- it accelerates on one axis before the other, shooting along in straight lines and zig-zags. I think I may just go buy a Razor mouse.
