mx420 overclock

my cousn just built his new pc, and he has to use an mx420 as a scab card for about 4 months, could he overclock the card? Safely?

Depends on the card, don't think you can expect much from SDRAM though. 😉

I dont think theres a whole lot of info out there on mx420 overclocking. Best advice I could give you and your cousin is to get Rivatuner, and carefully experiment.

Why overclock? cards not worth even putting the time into..

You could overclock it, but I don't think you'll see any noticeable difference in any game from the last 2 or 3 years.

i had an mx420 and i oc'ed it 20% with coolbits.

Uh yeah, he COULD....but it wouldn't make any visible difference.

well since last nightthe did, and it turns out it had DDR, the core was 250, and the memory was 332, we got it up to 266, and 360, not bad i guess, but yea, he needs a new card asap!
