I got a strange problem with my Diamond MX400. I called Diamond tech support, but they had never seen this behavior before.

I have a Windows NT 4.0 (sp6a)/Win 95 dual boot. This is a windows NT problem. MOre often than not, when booting into NT, I get no sound from the sounds card. Otherwise it appears to work. There are no errors generated or anything. Everything appears to work fine. Just that there is no sound coming out of the speakers. Sometimes, it will work, and I will get sounds out of it. However, once the card starts working, its good until I turn the machine off. By this I mean I can reboot the machine and still have sound. Which means if I really want sound in NT, I can get it by booting into Win95 first.

I have check the resources and compared them when I do get sound, and when I don't. I have not been able to spot a difference yet.

For what its worth, here are the resources the sound card is using under NT.

IRQ 10
Bus 0
Vector 58
Affinity 0x1
Type level sensitive
IO b400 to b4ff

This is what mx400.exe reprots when booting under 95:

IRQ 5
DMA 1
SB I/O 220h
MPU401 340h
Gameport 200h

BTW, this is on a ASUS P2B-S mainboard.
