Mines working fine in PCI slot 3. I had problems with it conflicting with other devices when I had it in other slots. I don't think PCI slot 3 is shared with any other devices, so try it in there.

reference drivers are the only way to go. Diamonds drivers are based on pretty early Vortex drivers... Diamond was pretty infamous for not being to good on updating drivers. The 2048 ones at vortex of soundare the ones you want. Check your other post in Tech support also.

I would suggest disabling SB emulation also, unless your playing DOS games.

my best advice to you would be to ditch that mx300 and get a live value card, mx300s are good at making systems unstable. i used mine for about 6 months now its in a storage bin...hmmmmmmmm maybe ill chain 3000 of them together and use them to guide an ICBM *joke*

what fixed the problem for you? was it changing to the reference drivers?
