MX1000 Power Plug Woes?

I bought my MX1000 and I must state that I love it, moreso than my old mx510.

now when I bought it it came with the base, mouse, and ac adapter (logitech branded) but the mouse doesnt like to charge.

I thought it was just sitting in the cradle wrong but I did some rewiring and found something interesting

My AC plug outputs 500 mA @ 8V however when I read the bottom of the base unit it says its input is 500 mA @ 13V!

can any mx1000 owners just look at their walwart real quick and tell me what voltage its running?

Mine says the same thing. I think the +8Vdc is what you would see
when Under A Load such as connected to the Mouse Receiver.
The Mouse Receiver runs on +5V internally and most 3 terminal
regulators such as the 7805 series require an input voltage of
3 to 4 volts higher than the desired output .. Hence the reference
to +8V ... +13V would be without a load on the power supply.
