the mx1000 has been known to have issues involving lag when the mouse gets picked up and set back down, so if pick up your mouse a lot when playing games, its probably a safer bet going with the mx510. I doubt you'll notice a difference in the responsiveness of the mouse and if you're using a good mousepad, you probably wont notice a difference in the tracking either. i'd say go with the mx510, its cheaper and looks better, then only real downside is that its corded.

MX510 for sure.

I bought the MX1000 to try out, but returned it, since my MX510 just still seemed more precise.

However, for non-gamers, the MX1000 is really nice.

MX1000 is best cordless mouse on the market at present,I`ve no lag issues ,I would also recommend you consider the Razer Diamondback mouse as well, got to be one of the best gaming mouse period(I own one as well).

The only downside to the MX1000 IMHO is weight, it`s not that heavy but for most gamers they prefer something that`s light, so fast to move around.

I see these threads all the time....I love my MX-510 blue.....its VERY comfortable (never going back) and there is no lag....plus wireless stuff requires batteries which are bound to die (especialy if they are ni-cads)

The MX1000 has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
