Mx1000 for serious gaming?

So a few months ago I picked up an Mx1000. I played with it for a few weeks, but felt like it ruined my game (play a lot of FPS games). I totally felt like it lagged, so I dumped it and went back to my Mx500.

But I've realized lately that other people use this mouse and don't notice the lag, so maybe the lag doesn't exist? I'm thinking I may have the wrong mousepad (its a great pad for optical, but maybe its not for laser?).

So the question is, does anyone else have an Mx1000 and use it for serious gaming? If so, what mousepad do you use? Do you notice any lag problems?

This pad looks sweet for laser mice, but at $50 its wayyyy too pricey.

Connect both your MX500 and MX1000 to your PC, and play a game while switching back and forth between them. I used to think my MX700 had 0 lag, but I changed my mind after getting my MX518.

My MX1000 has no lag that I can feel. I jsut use my desk, no mouse pad. I suggest messing your sensitivity a bit before blaming it on the lag. Also laser mouse is good against a dark background if I remember correctly.

My MX1000 works perfectly for FPS games. I do have to switch to a wired keyboard, though, because the MX5000 keyboard is cursed with tons of lag.

I tried using the g7 for a while but I couldn't get used to the feel so I went back to the mx1000 and gave the g7 to my sister. Three mouse buttons on the MX1000 is the best 😛 It also holds a decent charge after a single night on the charger, lasting at least 3-4 nights of gaming.

I also stopped using cordless keyboards. Keyboard rarely moved and swapping batteries/recharging them was very annoying.

I have the G5 and MX518, love both of them, the G5 definenlty has the cake when it comes to performence, the only thing i hate is that they went to only 1 thumb button! which i really missed from the MX518.

I have MX1000, MX518 and G7. I currently use the MX1000 for everyday use and G7 for gaming. I like the lightness of the G7 and ability to change dpi compared to the MX1000. I like the G7 over the MX518 b/c it's wireless. And even though the G7 has one less thumb button, it has left and right tilt buttons on the scroll wheel which I have mapped to game keys. Best of all worlds imho.
