MX1000 - does it lag when you lift it up and then put it down?

I have the MX1000 and I love it dearly. It does not lag whatsoever, not like the MS Intellimouse Explorer 2.0. However, I do notice that my newest MX1000(this is my third one - first one wobbled, 2nd one had metal clicking noise in the scroll wheel) takes a split second to respond if I lift it up and then put it down. It does not happen all the time. It happens once in a while. I don't recall I had that problem with my first 2.

So, my question is that does the most current version/batch of the MX1000 have this problem/feature still? Please advise. How do I tell it is produced in a later date.

Thanks

It's because the mouse went to sleep. Leave it alone for like 10 secs, and the green lights go out. Move it, and it's back on. Once it's awake, it's speedy and accurate.

btw, has anyone got the side-clicking wheel to do something? do you guys use mouse pads with it? i don't.

So, you guys don't have the lag like I described?

The side clicking works great like on a wide spreadsheet. I don't think you need to do anything to make it to work. Yes, I do use mouse pad.

My MX1000 randomly lags and the buttons will register as held down when the lag hits. It's a pain when you move the mouse and it is doing a click drag. I found the problem to happen less after I uninstalled their mouse software.

There is some lag on mine if I lift it up. It's very small, and I don't lift my mouse up ever so it isn't a problem for me.

It becomes a problem if you play FPS games. I returned mine for that reason and picked up a MX510 which works very nicely.
