MX video cards - are they all the same, like a GTS is a GTS?

There seem to be some really good deals on MX cards, particularly the 200-series ones, out there. Is one brand any better? Any to avoid? It's for the GF's rig.

yes the 200 series does perform worse than regular mx and mx400

i would recommend radeon LE if you in the market for a budget video card the mx is junk today IMO.

I believe Toms Hardware had a review a couple weeks ago on a special MX400 that performed almost as good as a GTS.

NelsonMuntz,

Hiya bud. LOL! I tell you buddy, my brain is so addled with life in general these days that I'm lucky I can tell the difference b/t a TBird and a P4! More lol! I know that the MX core is just a crippled GTS core, but I never really delved deeply into the whole variety-of-MX-cards thing. Being that she's gonna be charging the old card very soon, I figured I'd make sure. I surf the web all day at work, doing both official and unofficial business...I just couldn't bring myself to go to NVidia's page and copy down stats. I know that ATI has some decent cards, but honestly, I had driver-related probs with the two that I'd purchased B4...so I'll stick w/NVidia for now. She doesn't need (also doesn't need to spend the money) a GTS. I've seen the MX400 for $70 online. Prolly go w/that. Thanks bud.

ps
The Raid0 is still purring along happily, delivering 75% of SCSI performance at 1/4 the price! I've got this baby fine-tuned. According to HDtach, my avg transfer rate is 43mb/sec. Not bad at all! Burst speed is 81mb/sec. I take that one w/a grain of salt though. I'm still happy with my Raid...thanks again for the 100th time. Later bud.
