72 bucks for 256 MB PC133 seems awful cheap... Has anyone had any experience with their ram?? How does it compare to say, Crucial, or Mushkin... thanks

I recently bought a few (6) sticks of mwave 128MB PC133 SDRAM. The stuff they sent had Kingston labels on it, and has been working just fine.

small online store always charges unreasonable shipping, final price come out close to brand name at big online store with reasonable or free shipping.

Kingofcomputer, you've obviously never bought from mwave.

They are definitely NOT a small internet company and their shipping is reasonable- sure it's maybe a few bucks more (3?) than it should, but it's lower than most other internet stores.

BTW, I bought a FULL TOWER case, sound card, and motherboard from there in oct '99 and it only cost 30 to ship. I still go to that site a lot to check out their prices on stuff i might want to upgrade- and they are always good.

I agree with zippy, mwave is one of the best stores online, they dont charge unreasonable shipping fees. The keyword in kingofcomputer's post is "small", and Mwave is definitely not accosiated with small, they're one of the bigger stores online.

Also, I just want to say that two sticks of Kingmax PC150 128MB is going for only $90, not that much more than mwave RAM so I would take it.

I'd say they suck.
Once a friend bought a Enlight case from them, they gave no brand PS. They're cheater.

Mwave is good. I just don't think that I'd buy generic ram. Crucial or Mushkin. Its worth the extra couple dollars!!

they seem to be alright..shopped a few times there, but I just can't really compliment their customer service rep. The lady there was giving me an attitude for no reason :|

other than that, they seem fine. I bought an Enlight case too, and they gave me an 'Award' brand power supply.

Mwave is not small by any means... They are however very efficent and also very good to their customers.

I'd buy from Mwave almost every time if the price is just a few dollars more, they treat their customers good and have reasonable and competive prices.

Their shipping is comparable also.

I have to vouch for mwave as well. I've bought almost all the parts for two systems that I built from them and I received great deals. Their shipping is not that much higher. In fact a lot of times you still come out cheaper with their shipping than buying elsewhere with cheaper shipping. I also must say that I've received good customer service from them as well.

I have a 256MB stick of RAM in my system from them, and it runs fine @ the highest settings. Not the best, but atleast it doesn't choke. I'd say go with a brand name tho'. That way you won't be dissapointed if it's not what you expect.

BTW, my Enlight 7237 came with an Award Power Supply as well. Works fine for me. Kingofcomputer, did your friends PS clunk out on them or something?

I have a 64MB PC133 DIMM from them and it has never given me a problem. I have also bought several thousand dollars worth of equipment from them in the past couple of years with no problems to date. Good company.

Ditto what everyone else says. MWave is a good company. I have placed at least a dozen orders with them over the last 5 years and never had a problem. I've also referred three other people and they didn't have problems either. They handle returns pretty well too.

As far as their memory, I bought some a long time ago, and a couple of my friends have bought it too, and it worked fine. Nowadays, I'd probably buy from Crucial though: good prices and you know what you are getting.

I have spent a few thousand dollars at mwave building computers for others. I have to say that they are a good online company.

Kng of computers, you reasoning is flawed. You base you decision on a one time event that was not even your own experience. Try ordering a few thousand dollars worth of parts and get back to us.

Last time I ordered from mwave base price for shipping was 8 bucks, then a little more per item more. I ordered a computer worth of part (less the case) from them for 14.60 in shipping (not bad IMHO).

Their ram seems pretty good, but I would probably go with name brand since the prices are so low.

Well, my recent experience with MWave has been contrary to what most posters are saying. Like Kingofcomputer, I also got the bait-and-switch power supply on an Enlight case. The Award PS they put in there was not AMD approved and the Enlight 250 it should have had was. No explanation of this switch on their site. I had to rma it and get a different one which cost me an extra $14 bucks for an AMD approved 300 watt PS and then $9 to ship the old one back UPS insured. This is not the end of the world, but I would have rather known what I was getting up front. I probably would have made a different purchasing decision. In addition, the whole experience with customer service took forever and was very unpleasant. Obviously, some people have had much better luck than I did, so YMMV. Just thought you might want another opinion. I doubt I'll do business with them again.

Oh, as far as memory goes, in general, I think it is always worth it to spend a few extra bucks and get name brand stuff. I am partial to Crucial memory, though PNY and Kingston have worked fine for me as well.

Go to resellerratings.com and see their ratings. They are one of the best computer vendors in USA.
And about the price, it is justified because SDRAMs are supposed to be dirt cheap now.

Hmm, I bought an Enlight case from MWave a couple of years ago, and the power supply just popped last week, when I upgraded the CPU+MB. I didn't check the brand before I dumped it...
I have bought lots of kit from MWave without a hitch, including a digital camera and Palm IIIxe, and never had a problem with them.
I bought generic memory once (not from MWave), but never again, as it has caused lots of stability problems in Win 98.

I agree. They've pulled the switcheroo with the power supplies for a long time now. I think they replaced them with Deer power supplies once.

Other than that, they're a nice company.

I have their generic 128mb PC133 with lifetime warranty. Runs great on my MSi K7t Pro2 with T-bird 900. I also go this mobo from them but at first, they sent me the MSI K7T Pro, not the Pro2. They exchanged it, no questions asked and they paid shipping. From where I live in CA, they send it UPS ground and it gets here in 2 days. What I like about them is that they ship everything out fast, you order before 2 pm PST and it gets out the same day. I would recommend them to anyone based on my experience.

Like I said, I ordered their generic memory and they sent me Kingston. I've only had to deal with their customer service one time, and they were perfectly pleasant.

azeker1, big mail orders (buycom, onvia, egghead - using big suppliers) sell enlight case with enlight ps. small mail orders and local shops need to sell it with cheapy no brand PS to make profit, this is very common.
