Deal with it. Stop defending these games like they're your own stunted offspring being picked on after school. Some of us aren't interested in the "BF3 vs. MW4 War for All Nerd Souls", and just want to discuss the merits of a good game.

It's short and sweet. You should play it. Don't worry if you don't understand the story, hardly anyone does. It's not trying to be Shakespeare. It's over the top, constantly changing and rarely lets up.

I think most of the discontent comes from how it's relatively simple - your job is to just follow the leader, ride the ride and shoot things along the way. There's no RPG elements or really any choice about what to do next. Plenty of games are good at that stuff and I'm glad for it, but that's never what any CoD has been about. Even though it's really good at what it's trying for, it's an easy target to be snooty about.

I'm sorry I haven't taken up sides on your holy war against the infidel nonbelievers, but as hard as this may be to wrap your mind around:

A) Not everyone views this game (or...any game) as a point of personal pride that defines their status on forums.

B) Not everyone cares to take sides on a video game war (I think I regained my virginity just typing that)

C) Some of us just want to play the damn games, hear why they're worth playing, and not have some spaz menstruate all over us if we don't take the proper tone in asking questions.

This is just not worth arguing about. Sorry you didn't approve of my tone or the interpretation of the meaning of my post, but there's really nothing more to say about it.

B) I'm not taking a side in any "war". To think there is a war is really sad. I don't care what you or anyone else plays. I've said this multiple times. I've also said that my posting is to counter the lies, BS, and hypocrisy of BF fanboys or people who never played the game bashing it.

C) who's spazzing besides you or the BF fanboys?

Ahh... More of your selective reading comprehension. I responded to pontifex 100% in kind to how he responded to S. Deal with it. And there were no personal attacks. Calling you a petulant twat would be a personal attack; my other post had nothing of the sort and was merely aimed at highlighting the hypocrisy in this thread.

I know the Hype for BF3 is high lol and I am excited for it but...at heart I am a COD person and probably always will be. But if I ever got off of call of duty and went to another game as my primary FPS its probably going to be BF3, or GoW3

Gears of war isn't a FPS.
 
I wasn't sure about MW3. I thought I just wanted something different for a change of pace.

I played the hell of the the BF3 beta this weekend.

I'll be preordering MW3.
 
I loved Spec ops in MW2.. but this new setup for Spec ops sounds lame and the new mode they have sounds like a rehash of Horde/Zombies mode is all.

No kidding. If those are your reasons for not liking CoD you'd hate BF3.

I'mma do my best to stay out of this silly BF3 vs. MW3 argument, but honestly, do you need to make a thread to let people know that you're unexcited? Is the soap box that necessary? Why can't we just say different strokes for different folks and leave it at that?
