MW2 map pack priced: $15!!!

It's become clear to me that they care a lot more about making money off the franchise as opposed to a good game. Granted, any company wants to make money off their game. But I see a distinct difference between delivering a quality product that earns large sales to milking a cash cow until the teats are calloused and bloody.

Honestly, who didn't see this coming?

Unfortunately there are enough idiots out there who will happily pay for it and by doing so they justify these kinds of prices for so little content.

Yup and sadly because of those idiots we will see other large publishers following the trend seeing if they can and how much they can get away with.
 
Initially I thought, "hey, this wouldn't be bad... maybe it's 10 maps and a few new guns or a new mode!"

Then I read the article. Five maps, two of which are recycled? You can keep it.

just to add that key COD project people have been fired from Infinity Ward..
 
this is classic sample where rich n fat management ruins the product because they only care for $.

We have to awe game developers that managed to avoid being subject to this.

I think it's despicable just like everyone else, but BC2 is your retort? I've hardly even been able to play the damn game since I PURCHASED it due to connection issues. Which is more of a rip off? At least IW tells you what you're going to get. EA and Dice never let us know that the game would be borderline unplayable for weeks before we paid for it.

To each his own. It works for me 95% of the time.
 
DLC that $Cost is stupid and I simply won't Buy them. That's what pissed me off about BF1942 and why I abandoned that Series, You're pretty much hosed if you don't buy the DLC and everyone else does. IOW, it's basically a way to use Gamers as Extortionists against each other.

Huh? BF1942 never had DLCs. They had expansion packs back in the day when that was the hot thing.

Yea expansion packs back in the day were about $20 to $30 and had full on new single player campaigns, new weapons, new multiplayer maps, and new multiplayer modes.

What are we getting now? $10-15 for 3-5 maps with some of them rehashed from the old game?
 
The thing that pisses me off is MW2 is just a glorified or expansion of MW1. There's not any big change in the graphics or sound or features. Its pretty much the same game with different weapons, and different maps. I got the game for Christmas and was going to return it but kept it, played it for a while until the BC2 BETA came out and I haven't touched it since then. The other thing is the game was $60 bucks which is already $10 more than most PC games and now they're trying to rape another $15 out of people for a crappy map pack. No thanks IW.

This. And you wonder why they removed the ability for people to do these things. Why let those have for free what you can charge.
 
Considering I enjoy BF 1942 (yes, 2) more then BF:V, BF2, CoD4, I shall have to laugh. Ahahahahahaha.

There was some reason I boycotted CoD4: MW2 (it's not mechwarrior 2 damn it), but I can't remember anymore. I'll add this to the list when I remember.
