Mutiple boot system

Can I run Solaris, Windows and Linux in one machine? It is possible for Windows and Linux but I'm not sure if installing the 3 on one PC is possible.

Sure, technically you can install as many as you have disk space for. But I don't know how much work it would be to wedge Solaris in there, you'll probably have a much easier time with something like VMWare.

Or if you're patient, wait until SuSE comes out with their next version of Enterprise. There is a product called Xen that allows you to do virtualization on SuSE. It will save you a VMware License and give you additional support on the Linux OS you run if you combine the two.

Xen is a lot more work than VMWare and it's not as well tested. That and if you want to run unmodified guests under Xen you need a processor with VT/SVM extensions. And since VMWare Server is monetarily free there's no license to worry about.

But if you really want to try out Xen there's a LiveCD on the XenSource page and FC6 and RHEL5 both come with it integrated IIRC.

That's true, Fedora Core 6 would be the easiest route he can take there, should Xen be his choice for such an implementation.
