I need multimedia speakers in my 100sqft basement office for games especially but I do listen to music alot and some movies.

I can get Klipsh ultra promedia 5.1 for $540 CND (emplyee discount)
I could get Logitech 5.1 Z5300 or the next gen one for $230CND
I could get the Z680 for $420CND.

The Z680 rock but if the Klipsh are cheaper well and I dont need the DD.
The savings of the Z5300 seems like to be the one but I am willing to pay for the Klipsh if it is worth it....but crud iddunno...

Anyone got the Z5300 and agree they rock quite well for the money??

If the sub on the Z5300 is like the Z680s, you'll probably be disappointed by its overaccentuated output. It was great for games, but a little much for music, IMO. The satellites were pretty good.

That said, the Klipsch setup is almost 2x the price of the 5300. I'd recommend buying locally if you can, if nothing else so you can return them without having to pay shipping/restocking if you're not happy. I learned my lesson the hard way and ate $50 in shipping charges back to Newegg when I got sick of my Z680s.

Good point about the shipping and return. You really thought the 680's subs were over done. I heard the klipsh they sounded pretty good. I am used to really good home audio, I have not heard too many multimedia systems.

Ok - I had to edit the z680 price above - I got a new quote.

You have about the same dimensions as I do for my computer room, and pretty much use them for what I use them for: gaming and music. I have the Z-5300s and I'm very happy with them. It takes a little bit to get the bass just right for music and games, but after that is done, they sound fantastic! I can't see why anyone would spend twice as much money on the klipsch's. I highly recommend them, especially for as inexpensive as they are! Go with the Logitech Z-5300s.
