I've seen several tweak guides that recommend muting uneeded sounds in the volume controls, like mute AUX if you had no reason to use it. It supposedly reduces static? Does it really help and if so, exacly what is happening to reduce static?
i do the same. i could easily be wrong, but i think what happens is those unused sound channels just lie "open" and emit a little bit of interference, although in my other systems im sure it is not much, especially with today's sound cards.
