There are animals with birth defects all the time. Unless you're tracking the incidence of things like this relative to other populations of the same animals in other areas you can't draw any conclusions.

Also, that comment about it showing indications of albinism is probably moot. It's a domesticated rabbit, many domesticated rabbits were bred to express albinism. However, it's a recessive trait so its parents may not express it but still are able to have albino offspring. I'd bet that its parents are carriers for the recessive albino genes.

This is pretty poor reporting. It's just trying to get people's attention by playing on their fears without actually having any real information to base their story on.

You don't get it do you? This is signaling the coming rabbit zombie apocalypse.

And Greenpeace has urged Japan to evacuate pregnant women and children from Fukushima because of high radiation.

Typical alarmist Greenpeace. That's a bit specious. Me thinks they've been watching the Simpsons too much.

No one has yet mentioned the most common cause of earless bunnies which is maternal mutilation of the juvenile; this behavior is probably related to stress or disturbance.

try working for a living it will ease your fears.

I DO work for a living thank you, and yes that is NSFW and should be labeled as such. The second pic is what I'm referring to, and in many work environments, the ones that allow you to surf sites like atot would have a cow with it.
