What is the difference between a LX 5.0 Hatchback and a GT (also 5.0)?

iirc, bumpers. The notchback is shorter and lighter iirc

the body kit... LX's were the faster one's due to less weight also

Is there anything "under the hood" or anything besides appearance?

The only think I don't like about LX versus GT are the black rubber stripes on the side (which can be painted to the body color)... and the front "grill" that the GT doesn't have.

Nothing under the hood, only if you get the Cobra.

I myself prefer the LX, My brother had a 92 that if he would have told me he was selling I would have right now, it was a beautiful Grey (not to be mixed up with Silver)

also look at NotFred's LX, it's nice too.

I don't like all the ground effects crap myself when it comes to the Fox.

I'd love to have a nice dark green or black LX 5.0 with some nice chromed 5-spoke wheels.

The GT and LX 5.0 have identical engines. The GT had the ground effects, a different wing, different exhaust tips, foglights, and some warning lights that didn't come on the LX (the LX has no gas light, the GT does, and also has a low coolant light).
