Feeling spontaneous and have about 8 days to visit and going solo. How's the weather there in June?

Those who've been there's what are some must-see places and good cheap places to eat?

ummm I have been there both before and after the UK switch. Ummm...dont really know what there is to go see. Its a pretty fun place but we were visiting friends so we just kinda hung around the city, seeing their schools, american club, the mall, and the such.

Get ready for HOT. really really hot. Its kind of like japenase weather. The first time I went to japan was shopping for furniture and wow....so freakin hot.

OMG hot and humid, its terrible but worth it.

Where are you staying HK side or Kowloon side. I know there are a few AT guys that live in HK that will definitely give you a better list than I.

When I went last summer, I went to Mongkok for electronics/computer stuff. I also went to Victorias peak for the view, it will be awesome at night.
Central, because its bascially downtown and all the shopping areas are there like times square.
Tsim Tsa Tsui in Mongkok is also nice, walk down Nathan road.

Lantau island to see the Buddha statue, kind of a long bus ride. The hike up the stairs in 100 degree weather may kill you.

Definitely take the star ferry at night from kowloon back to HK, the view is awesome again.

Thats off the top of my head, I'm sure there is tons more.

Eaton Hotel is right on Nathan road. Any experiences with this particular hotel?

I'm more of a scenic person. I'd like to visit places like what 777php mentioned, the temple, the ocean night view of the city, the Victoria peak night view. I'd like to roam around some of the computer/electronic malls, rent a bike somewhere and just go places, and try out sidewalk street food.

Toureast's system is messed up. If you book the vacation package with flight and hotel it comes to $3k. If you book the flight and same hotel separately, it comes out to $1280 and $640 respectively. A $1000 difference??
