must push reset switch to cold boot

I've been cruising along for 3 weeks after getting Win Y2K configured. Using the 1005c version for bios.
Now the computer won't cold boot without hitting the reset button. Power up cold boot freezes...does not appear to POST; as no evidence of checking the RAM or any messages on the screen.

But during this lockup, if the reset button is pushed, the proper cold boot sequence begins. No other problems.

Antec case, 300w PS, 650 T-Bird @800, 128 MB RAM PC 133, 30 GB Maxtor. Win Y2K.

Don't think its windows 2000. When a computer POST's it hasn't even gotten to the bootstrap portion where it would load the most basic of drivers. Basically at that point windows hasn't had any influence on the computer yet. I think the problem lies in your bios or configuration, but probably the bios. Try flashing that again, might overwrite any problem. I have a Dell so I don't get to do bios flashes that much, but I think that there might be an error there somewhere.

Somebody else know more about bios' please jump in. Luck!!!

Could also possibly be a memory problem, although I think you would see hints of that from the OS once it boots. Play any games? You would definitely see RAM problems in a game, if you indeed have problems with RAM.

plug and play in the bios most likely off turn it on I had same problem i guess mine was to start in the morning i had to press power than reset.

yes, it is an Asus A7V.
however, the Plug n Play setting is already
turned on in the Bios.

any other suggestions before I reflash?
