Ok, Currently I have a celery 466 with 256 megs of ram. No actually it has 384 megs of ram IN there, but the motherboard only recognizes half of one of the 256 meg sticks, oh well.

But Anarchy Online is being released on june 27th. I really want to play this from release, as I'm in the beta now (who isn't? 🙂 ) and I love the game but my current system dies at the graphics. Currently my video card is a Voodoo 3 3000 but its being upgraded to a visiontek Geforce 2 GTS 32meg card very soon.

I want to upgrade the motherboard and the processor as well but I need to go for the bang for buck scenarios here. The Duron looks nice, 800 mhz for $34. But I'm not sure what MB would work well for that. Also, I'm clueless about what MB to use because I've been watching the top end MBs and not the low ends. I've been planning an upgrade for some time but AO has blindsided me, so I have to try to get what I can with what money I have (not a lot) Can anyone help?

well since you already have the RAM, and don't need integrated video, just buy a Duron and a KT133A motherboard, the Iwill KK266 or Asus A7V133 are popular choices. The difference with DDR will not justify the cost of buying new RAM (since you already have 384 megs), espically on a relatively low-end Duron.

Is that the cheapest MB anyone would recommend? I don't plan on keeping this configuration for very long... 4-5 months at the most.. Are any of the sub-$100 mbs worth getting?

So your looking for an upgrade for under 150 bucks.

If all your waiting is 4-5 months, I say, just ease up on some of the vid settings and "squint a bit". Then put your 100 bucks towards something a bit more future proof.
