What do you consider "real Jazz"? Benny Goodman is Jazz the same way Miles Davis is. In fact, many of the guys who played with Davis played in big bands as well.

I am joking man...😀

Personally, I enjoy a variety of rhythms......except that modern crap...I really don't like the crap that passes off for improvisation sometimes...its is just awful. I would have to give you a specific example to expalin it better, but sadly, I forget the artists (no need top remember them🙂 )

I can't help but enjoy nicely placed sincopatic phrases😀

Nicholas Payton - Gumbo Nouveu
Mark Whitfield - 7th Ave. Stroll
Nicholas Payton - Fingerpainting
Jeff Massanari (If you can find it...)
Art Blakey - The Natives are Restless
Joe Pass - Any of the live at Yoshi's, in fact any Joe Pass
Wes Montgomery - anything, four on six in particular...
Christian Mcbride - Verticle dreams

Anything Brubeck.

A cookie to anyone who can find me a copy - LP, Tape, or CD - of my dad's jazz release. "Dessert" by the Chris James Quartet.
