Must be simple answer to this for-me mind boggling stereo issue - SOLVED!

I have a ~25 foot dual RCA cable (left/right channels) coming from my CD players (2 daisy-chained Pioneer 301 disk players). That cable plugs into a GE audio-video switching box. The stereo output RCAs from the switching box go to a simple Lepai LP-2020A+ Class-T Hi-Fi Stereo Digital Amplifier which drives a couple of bookshelf speakers. The switching box supports 4 inputs, I use one for CD from the players (I don't use the video in/outs).

I've had an issue with the right channel cutting out when listening to CDs. Sometimes it would work, sometimes when listening to CDs the right channel disappeared. A few weeks ago I "fixed" the problem by unplugging the right channel male RCA plug coming from the CD players from the switching box and, in an attempt to clean it, plugged it into a female RCA of an accessory cable I had sitting around. A few in-outs evidently cleaned the male RCA connector because plugged back into the switching box I had stereo again. Great. This scene played out again a week or two later. Today, I notice that the right channel is absent again and nothing is bringing it back.

So, in trying to troubleshoot this I tried a few things. One, was swapping out the switching box for another unused new one I have. The problem persists. That suggests the switching boxes are OK. In fact, I discovered that plugging the cable from the CD players into any of the other input pairs in a switching box gives the same problem. Suspect is the cable from the CD players, right? But plug either channel RCA singly from the CD players into the LEFT channel input of the switching box and I do hear its audio. But plug that channel into the RIGHT channel input of the switching box and silence. Same thing for any of the input channel pairs of the switching box.

What could the problem be?

The right channel output connection to speaker cable of the Lepai amp is busted. I don't know if I can fix it, but I guess I can solder a piece of wire to it and jury rig a connection with a twist on wire connector to the speaker cable. 😉

Why my attempts to fix the problem by messing with the RCA cable seemed to work to restore the connection the last few weeks I don't understand. Sort of a chance thing. Anyway, it's evidently sorted out now. I like these little amps but they are pretty dang low end and have issues. Lousy speaker wire connections, lousy pots that can go noisy or worse. When they work, great. They are cheap ass. I should try to find something else. They are nice and small and put out enough volume, also they draw very little power. I always leave this one on for that reason, don't mess with its on/off switch. They make a little pop when you do, is part of the reason, also it's another step turning the amp on when I want music.
