Muslims seek prayer room at airport

Apples and oranges there, paranoia king.

Are Christians allowed to pray in airports? If so, why not Muslims? And refer back to the other thread about how Muslims were treated when they prayed publicly. I see nothing wrong with a small quiet room being available. As long as they're open to all who want to use them and not "Muslims Only" rooms I don't see a problem.

"Apples and oranges there, paranoia king."

Looks like I'm not the only one who's a little scared. How about the rest of the U.S?

Hell, I'd be fine with giving the Christians their own prayer room too if public displays of Christianity at the airport resulted in paranoid jackasses coming out of the woodwork.

A stupid idea is still a stupid idea, even if millions of people believe it...reality is reality no matter how few people believe in it, and bullshit is still bullshit, no matter how popular it is.

BoberFett, et. al.
For over 48 years as a citizen of a certain country (which I will not name so that the argument does not digress), I have seen the mayhem wrought by muslims as they tore it apart first and then conveniently presented themselves as victims and demanded special treatment. Those of us who were at the receiving end of those horrors know what it is like to live through it. I can very clearly see the beginnings of a repeat in the West.

I don't see American Indians doing rain dances at airports, or buddhists banging their gongs and chanting mantras, or hindus doing bhajans.
A community that's pissed off so many people should be indulging in a little introspection, IMHO. Not asking for extra-special treatment. Especially after 9/11.

This ticks me off to no end.

get these freaks (muslims forcing their way of life on us) out of our country. I don't think people realize that we are being taken over. You have to stop this crap and stop it now.

They are using our PC culture against us. Stand up, write your congressmen (like I have) and tell them to stop this invasion. This is the ENEMY dammit. Stop them.

It's happening in Europe, don't let it happen here.

wtf are u smoking? seriously. I want some of it now.

This is the U.S

They have a right to demand whatever they feel is right. Doesnt mean they are going to get it.
& there is no one voice for Muslims. A group got together and decided to make it happen. The group doesnt even represent 1% of U.S Muslims.

Stop generalizing. People get together all the time to try to pass laws/regulations that will benefit them.

No Muslim is taking over the U.S. You do know Muslims are fighting for the U.S right now. You want us to kick them out as well?

If they did, there shouldn't be a problem with it...especially considering how Euros err I mean "Americans" almost wiped them off the face of the planet.

What would happen if the airport allowed a nativity scene to be displayed on it's premises during Christmas?

Christmas is a time to celebrate Jesus, no?

Muslims believe in Jesus. He was very important in Islam.

Pray rooms are private by the way. Usually covered by one of those asian portable walls and are in a corner. I assume this is what they want. Rugs they can just bring from home.

So you aren't even a real American, yet you'll attempt to dictate our policy?

Be gone, invader!

I agree, Israel should take a long hard look at their actions.

This, on the other hand, is a reasoned response to unreasonable discrimination.

You wouldn't even need a dedicated room; just one you could clear out at the appropriate times.

Now take your :cookie: and go.

When logic fails, bring on the innuendo. I guess, by your logic, those champions of egalitarianism, viz. the French are also fear mongering. I mean, how could those prayer loving muslims ever pose a threat to aviation?

So, was the taxi episode also a reasoned response to unreasonable discrimination?
After all, why should they be forced to do the work and carry alcohol in their cab, right?

Well, I guess we can start with one room in the airports, then we'll need one at the DMVs (long waits involved there too), then the subway stations, courthouses, etc, etc....

Yeah, before long we'd be the land of the free, home of the brave.

The horror!

What's next? special entrance ramps for the "handicapped", women voting, slavery abolished?

That's the other argument. The reason why Iraqis are slaughering each other like sheep, Talibans are stoning their women, Iranians are murdering their opponents, Lebanese are commiting hara-kiri, Syrians are wiping out whole villages opposed to the regime, muslims flying planes into buildings is all because Israel is occupying Palestine.

There's no nutritional value in what you're saying. Come up with something better.

I think a psychiatric ward dedicated to muslims would be appropriate, to find out what makes them think they're so special.

In case you forgotten, besides the freedom to practice religion there's also the freedom of religion. Furthermore, that freedom does not guarantee that you'll be accomodated to worship anywhere you want -- keep the praying in the houses of worship, it's that simple.

BTW, your comparisons are as lame as they could get, since I'm sure the muslims in the USA are suffering as much as the slaves did, or are denied their rights like women were, or have a limited freedom of mobility and access like handicapped people do.

Yep, today's typical muslim is a wheelchair-bound disenfranchised slave woman.

You tried to qualify yourself as an expert so that your opinion would be more valid. I'm arguing about the topic at hand, but I couldn't resist taking a shot; your stance on Israel is not 'non-controversial' and you cannot use it as a secure resting place for your take on the current topic. Nice try though.
