Kids, go hide under your beds, there is a Monster out there. And don't worry, "there is a red under every bed" is no longer applicable

LOL

No...Sharia is not an existential threat

I equate it to Ebola. Just because it is limited in extent in our neighborhoods, does not mean we should let our guard down when it pops up. Damage done does not equate to potential damage if something hostile and incompatible is left unchecked.

Islam as a form of government has no place among us.

That would depend on the topic. You don't hear much talk of polio in hospitals these days. Maybe we don't have an issue with what has already been disposed of. Instead we look at what's trending and concern ourselves with what lays ahead.

Depend on the topic? Seems clear to me:

"Islam as a form of government has no place among us."

I ask again, Only Islam?

Then I'll be clear. No, not only Islam.

Yet this topic belongs to one case of a particular ideology that presently makes moves towards that end. To act as theocracy over all. That particular is something I'm quite compelled to speak against.

Feel free to cite other cases if you wish to find my support, but I'm more likely to laugh in the face of American "preachers on street corners" until I find them with ties to organized crime. I feel like you're wanting me to speak against polio... decades after that battle was won.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_right#Politics

Christian right or religious right is a term used in the United States to describe right-wing Christian political factions that are characterized by their strong support of socially conservative policies. Christian conservatives principally seek to apply their understanding of the teachings of Christianity to politics and public policy by proclaiming the value of those teachings and/or by seeking to use those teachings to influence law and public policy.[1]

In the U.S., the Christian right is an informal coalition formed around a core of evangelical Protestants and Catholics.[2][3][4] The Christian right draws additional support from politically conservative mainline Protestants, Jews, and Mormons.[2][5] The movement has its roots in American politics going back as far the 1940s and has been especially influential since the 1970s.[6][7] Their influence draws, in part, from grassroots activism as well as their focus on social issues and ability to motivate the electorate around those issues.[8] The Christian right is notable today for advancing socially conservative positions on issues including school prayer, stem cell research,[9] homosexuality,[10] contraception, abortion,[11] and pornography.[12]

The Christian right believes that separation of church and state is not explicit in the American Constitution, believing instead that such separation is a creation of what it claims are activist judges in the judicial system.[62][63][64] In the United States, the Christian right often supports their claims by asserting that the country was "founded by Christians as a Christian Nation."

The unholy alliance of the Political Right and the Religious Right threatens to destroy the America we love. It also threatens to generate a revulsion against God and religion by identifying them with militarism, ecological irresponsibility, fundamentalist antagonism to science and rational thought, and insensitivity to the needs of the poor and the powerless

But still...some Muslims handing out pamphlets in Germany scares the hell out you
I suppose the CR just loves that, you keep your eye on Germany

So a handful of muslims in Germany are doing a small scale version of what southern baptists and other nutters have been doing here in the States for years?

And?

Must have been a slow outrage day I guess.

When Muslim population density reaches critical mass, they go absolutely ape shit and start taking shit over. See below population percentage behavioral patterns.

Percentage is how much of population is muslim and how they treat their countrymen:

10% - We love you!
20% - Don't tread on me!
51% - convert or die!

(Making fun of Christians is never a concern for me, but honestly, my post above makes me nervous)

Same thing with Israeli jews. But instead of forcing ideologies on you they place people of those ideologies into your country.

That description is at considerable odds with the topic title.

Seems I over stepped the article by relating it to something grander, such as the UK's Sharia courts. Apologies if the topic was lead astray when I escalated it to contesting theocracy.

I'm more interested in the actual story than what someone thinks is an accurate title for it. But my apologies, you are quite correct, the article clearly states "about a dozen young men."

That's probably about the size of a single church's jesus patrol, the total being far greater and their area of operations much larger than this dirty German dozen. Mea culpa.

Did you know in the Bible Belt they have neighborhoods so overtly religious they proclaim it via billboards and lawn signs? Non-christian ideas, events, gatherings and holidays are persona non grata. They'll actually take turns staking out bars, concerts, and porn shops to document people and license plates so that they can distribute that info later to others. Pretty amazing actually, in a shameful McCarthy-esque kind of way.

I guess I was wrong about the police side of it too, come to think of it. The article states the German police "won’t tolerate the activities of Muslim patrols attempting to impose obedience to religious law." In my experience, Escambia County Florida police have a far more removed position on the baptist brigades, short of trespass and actual crimes being involved anyway. Again, my apologies.

Muslims aren't the only ones who count some kind of "Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice" among their believers. Sorry if that doesn't fit in with the muslim invasion fear mongering en vogue here.

I do have a problem with the massacre of any race of people!

What I do not have a problem with is Israel defending it`s population!

If by massacre you are claiming that Hamas ought to take better care of the people it represents then I agree with you!!

It is population what?

Perhaps you meant "its" population?
