::barf:: I'd rather hear Nickelback than Coldplay

Yes but you can't argue that they are a successful band that writes good music.

I never got into The Who. I love the fact that Keith Moon was probably the greatest drummer of all time. I know they wrote good music. I am familiar with it.

I just never got into them.

That doesn't mean they sucked.

If you agree with me that new music is crap and has been for a long time, there are tons of great albums to explore from the early 60s to the early 80s.Prog from the 70s is probably my favorite genre and if you like bands like Pink Floyd,Yes,ELP and Genesis, there are lots more great prog that was not commercially successful.Italy had a thriving prog scene at the same time that went largely unknown in the US until the advent of CD.Some great albums: Maxophone-self titled,Perigeo-non e poi cosi lontano,Arti & Mestieri-tilt,giro di valzer.
The music suits don't seem to be interested in creativity,IIRC Zappa said if he had started in the 80s he never would have been signed to a record deal.

But Nickleback sucks. I mean, come on. 'Something in your mouth'? 'S.E.X.'? Did some horny 12 year old virgin write those songs?

We have an entitlement mentality; we believe others should furnish us what we want at no cost to ourselves. A hundred thousand illegal downloads does not equal a hundred thousand CDs sold; kids who steal a hundred CDs don't otherwise magically have $1,500 in disposable income. But I do agree with the record companies that people should pay for what they listen to unless it's voluntarily made available for free.
It makes me proud that we have gotten to the point that the mentally challenged have good access to the internet.

I agree Nickleback sucks they are simply a boy/rock band experiment in my eyes.

I was disagreeing that Coldplay sucks.

Either way, all I'm trying to get down to here is there is a difference between:

A: I don't like their music.
B: They suck.
