Music123.com's Scratch & Dent sale

They have the Ebony's for $279, but for $20 get the cooler one :) These will have good build quality, but their pickups tend a bit muddy and the tuning machines a bit loose, but you can upgrade later if it's a problem. Hell of a guitar for the price.

EDIT: Looks like you can use the code BLEM10 to get 10% more off in some cases.

I've never been a big fan of sunbursts for some reason. I do like that blue one.
And make sure you have a comfy strap, it's like wearing a cinder block :p

Not too bad, I have a Epiphone Les Paul Studio in Ebony, fun guitar to play on, and I hear they are lighter than the Gibson version.

Yeah, the Epi's aren't a solid block body, so they're 2-3 pounds lighter.

It says solid mahogany body in the description. Doesn't that mean it's a solid block? Or does it just mean that it's not plywood?

IIRC, Epi Les Pauls are solid mohogany, like Gibsons, but instead of a maple cap on the top of the guitar, there is just a maple veneer.

The back is not a solid piece either...basically the body is a thin slab of maple, the front is a maple vaneer, and the back is made of pieced together mahogany. This is why they don't have as much sustain or weigh as much as the solid maple body Gibson version.
