All of these parts are an excellent value on their own.

They have basically taken everything that is the best value for a PC and MAC home music studio and miraculously knocked $100 off the price of ordering through their own already cheapest website.

What it does not say iand really blew my away with the $50 headphones and midi and instrument cables they even through in.

I'm just floored at what a steal this is. If you want to turn your PC (or if you know what you are doing your Mac) into what would have 15 years ago been a 2 million dollar music studio, this is just a STEAL.

And the most amazing part -- I did not have to install a single ****** driver. :D

edit: and please do not tell me to put this in the hot deals forum. I do not think they are sophisticated enough to comprehend what a deal this is. It's more of comment than something of a fleeting "hot deal" nature ;)

Holy ******. Pretty nice bundle for the price. Pretty much a complete home studio for under $500. I set one up a year or so ago, and I spent somewhere around $1100 just starting out. Wish they had this back when I bought my studio equipment.

If anyone was wondering I've done business in the past with Musician's Friend and had a positive experience.

Yeah, MF has been around for YEARS, good company.

However, I personally don't think this is THAT great of a deal. It's a god deal, but really, the only piece of equipment that I think is of any real value in the bundle is the Firebox.

The Mic is OK, but definetly on the low-end, even for Marshall (I have a matched-pair of 603s which are amazing). M-Audio makes good monitors but the DX4s damn near require a subwoofer to accurately translate low frequencies.

The Firebox is a great unit however and for $300 it's pretty hard to beat.

The bundle is enough to get someone started, but the upgrades are going to come quicker then you may expect.

I'd personally go with an M-Audio interface and preamp (Audiophile 2496/DMP3), and a different mic (maybe Audio-Technica AT2020). It may end up costing about $100 more, but you'll get more milage out of the gear. I have the DX4 monitors...they're decent for stereo imaging, but not good for EQ'ing with because the bass response isn't strong enough.
