Meh. She could do the same thing with a keyboard and mouse (and she admits as much). This is just "cooler." It's about showmanship, not musicianship.

It's interesting, but it's not something I think I'd get much pleasure out of doing. Maybe. I'd try it, anyway. But, I like the sound of wood and vibrating strings :). Of course, you could program that to be the greatest air guitar ever.

That looks overly complicated. Couldn't you do the same thing with a kinect and not look like the whip cracking villain from iron man 2?

Honest question: how is oculus rift any different than the VR headsets of over a decade ago? Has someone just decided to take another crack at it?

I thought the old VR things were just screens in your face. Aside from the better screen tech of today, the big draw to Rift is more accurate head tracking including crouching and such. Instead of using the mouse as your camera control, the view just follows your head movement so you feel like you're actually there looking around vs. looking through a frame at something you're just controlling.
